CRISTOBAL “Spider” GALLEGOS

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Rank: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

Cristobal Gallegos is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose approach to martial arts reflects the way he approaches life: stay curious, embrace difficult challenges, and never stop improving.

Years on the mats have taught Cristobal that progress rarely comes from taking the easy route. Jiu-jitsu rewards creativity, problem-solving, discipline, and the willingness to fail, learn, adapt, and try again. Principles that have shaped him far beyond competition and training.

Outside the academy, Cristobal is a husband, father, professional, entrepreneur, and lifelong builder who is constantly pursuing new ideas and challenging what others consider possible. Whether he is working on a creative project, building a business, traveling the world, or stepping onto the mats, he brings the same mindset: think differently, commit fully, and keep pushing the limits of what he can become.

But his greatest accomplishment isn’t a belt, a career milestone, or something he’s built. It’s the family he’s building with his wife and the example he hopes to set for his son.

For Cristobal, being a martial artist means more than being capable on the mats. It means becoming someone his family can depend on, treating others with respect, remaining humble enough to keep learning, and being willing to do hard things for a meaningful purpose.

As a Phenom athlete, Cristobal is proud to represent New Mexico’s jiu-jitsu community and a brand built around athletes who refuse to be ordinary.

Black belt. Husband. Father. Builder. Always a student.
